May 5, 2019 marked the 34th Annual “Run for the Zoo – And Walk With Us Too!” at the Albuquerque Zoo. This nonprofit event is so popular that it caps at 12,000 participants. Proceeds from the event support the Albuquerque Biopark, which includes the Zoo, Aquarium, Botanic Garden and Tingley Beach.

New Mexico Veteran Art Show

November 9, 2017 marked the opening night of the New Mexico Veteran Art Show. This non-profit organization is staffed by volunteer veterans and seeks to promote the artistic talents of military personnel, past and present, their spouses, and their children. You can read more about the organization by visiting their website here. The Art Show was housed in the Fine Arts building of the New Mexico Fairgrounds and is open to the public for 2 weeks.

Pro Bono Mediation Day A Success at 2nd District Court

April 20, 2018 marked the sixth annual Peter H. Johnstone Settlement Day. Named in honor of a deceased family law attorney who helped organize this event, this free mediation program matches family court cases with volunteer attorneys to settle a high number of cases in one day. In the months leading up to the event, judges and court staff work to identify and assign cases to this event. Cases qualify for this mediation day if neither party has an attorney but seem willing to mediate. Cases range from divorce without children, to divorce with children, to parentage, to post-divorce disputes.

Free Legal Clinic for Veterans

January 9th saw another great turnout for the free legal clinic offered to veterans throughout the year at the New Mexico Veteran Memorial on 1100 Louisiana Blvd. Hosted by the Young Lawyers Division of the New Mexico State Bar, volunteer attorneys and paralegals attend this event to offer pro bono advice to veterans in need on a number of topics ranging from landlord-tenant to civil litigation, to family law. Mulcahy Law Firm is proud to contribute to this event and see the people in the Albuquerque community who dedicate their time to serving our veterans.
